About Mary Hill

Mary is a retired Maori artist.
She had a happy childhood growing up in a small town in Kaikohe, New Zealand, with many childhood friendships that have lasted through to old age.
Her first book, Cannabis for Cancer, and her second book, Cannabis for Animals, showcase her talent as a writer.
Mary lived in Australia for ten years and has fond memories of good times and good people, which will be remembered in future novels.
During her time in Australia, she wrote a herbal column in a community newspaper.
Her third book portrays foraging for bush tucker and Australian wild foods.
After returning to New Zealand, she pursued her interest in Maori Art and designed a range of Maori design Greeting Cards.
She spent the next 30 years as a flax weaving tutor, teaching and sharing her knowledge.
However, old age and arthritic fingers changed that, which enabled her to follow her passion for writing.
She now lives remotely in the Far North in a peaceful valley, which is a perfect place to write.
Retirement has been a very nice way for her to spend her time.
